The emergence of Social Networks has taken storm; lets face it, who isn't on Face Book these days. Social Network marketing is now as essential as search engine optimisation. If you have limited time, I would recommend you stick to the basics, being: Face Book, Twitter, and LinkedIn. I will address each Social Network website and how to use their available features to your advantage.
Face Book
Face Book allows business owners the oppotunity to create a Face Book page about their business. Within this page, you can make regular announcements, which can be viewed by people who like the page or are fans of the page. It is a great way to let your customers/staff, know what is going on in your business world. You can even advertise your facebook page to a target audience on the left of Face Book. When creating your Face Book page; take your time to include as much information in the form of text, photos and videos as you can allow. The more quality information someone has about your business, the more likely they will buy from you.
Twitter
Twitter is a very popular site, where people can write a sentence or two and post it for all their followers to view. Twitter has a nice feature, where you can send your Tweets directly to their cell phone. This option is fantastic if you want to keep in touch with staff throughout the day and let them know what is going on. For example, the sales rep can announce to staff that they won a new contract. You can use twitter to create a widget to display the 4 or so latest tweets and place this on your website.
LinkedIn
LinkedIn is a way businesses can connect with each other and employees can connect with their work place. The bare minimum here is create a profile about your business, including photos and text information, and get your employees to connect to your business.
When it comes to the online world, our customers can come from anywhere. You never know who is viewing your Face Book page or viewing your LinkedIn profile; it could be your next customer. Business is more competitive than ever, so we must take advantage of what is our there, especially if it is free to use.
